Christmas will arrive in Poundbury this weekend with a Christmas light switch on and a Christmas market.
Starting on Thursday 24 November at 6.30pm there will be a big Christmas light switch on at 6.30pm with mulled wine, drinks for the children and a local school choir.
Then on the Saturday, the inaugural Christmas in the Buttermarket market is being hosted by local craft and artisan food providers.
The market has been organised by Charlotte Polley, owner of Boo’s Toy Shop in the Buttermarket alongside other business owners in the square.
She said: “The Father Christmas event we have run over the past few years has been so successful that this year we wanted to make it bigger and better than before and really get everyone in the Christmas spirit.”
The festive day will see many stalls from local businesses, a grotto and a delicious selection of outdoor food and the event runs 10.30-4pm.
There will be a Father Christmas coming along and it is £4 per child to visit the grotto.
