It’s been a bumper year of awards for Poundbury’s top wedding shops and services.
It started with Kate Atkinson, owner of Bridal Reloved – a unique destination shop for second hand boutique wedding dresses – who twice this year took home awards and now is up for a prestigious wedding industry award.
Kate won the Venus awards Entrepreneur of the Year, the Dorset Echo Business award for Best Social Media, she was a finalist in the Dorset Wedding Supplier Awards and is now a south west regional finalist for the Wedding Industry Awards for Best Bridal Wear.
Just a few doors up Angel Cake Company, sisters Nicci Campbell and Emma Hamriding have also been nominated for a Wedding Industry Award 2017 and have previously been awarded Taste of The West silver and bronze awards.
The third company nominated is Linus Moran Photography who specialises in artistic, documentary style wedding photography. His nomination is hot on the heels of winning first place in The International Award Winning Wedding Photographers competition.
The businesses reached the final in the regional competition after being voted in by their customers and this is the second time they have all been nominated.
Bridal Reloved’s Kate Atkinson said: “It is a huge award for all of us and really is great to showcase the standard of the wedding services here in Poundbury.”
Emma Hamriding said it great that in the same road you can visit wedding dress shops, boutiques, a cake shop, a wine shop, florist, gift shops and even book your holiday and each of these services are high quality independent businesses.
She added: “It is very exciting and also scary. We don’t like to be cookie cutter cakemakers because we love to be individual.”
Photography Linus Moran said it is good to support each other. “These awards are testament to the level of wedding professionals in Poundbury and this area and I’m proud to be surrounded by such talent,” he added.
