The Duchess of Cornwall Inn will open its doors tomorrow to its first customers.
The eagerly awaited Hall & Woodhouse pub in Queen Mother Square will open at 12noon on Friday 4 November.
Manager Matt Hughes said the venue has been inundated with enquiries already for months with eager customers wanting to book a table.
It follows a grand opening last week by the Duchess of Cornwall during the historic official unveiling of Queen Mother Square by The Queen.
Matt Hughes added: “It was such a special event for us. It is a very big day and we are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved here.”
The new inn can cater for 120 customers across various different areas such as the snug, overlooking the Queen Mother Statue, the long banquet tables for parties of friends, then the charismatic bar and the cosy dining tables.
Matt added: “The design concept is that you never have to leave, everything you want can be catered for whether its breakfast, coffee and a cake, a quick bite or a three course meal.”
The pub features three floors of quirky areas and a comprehensive outdoor seating area with heating and parasols. Framed portraits of historic characters and royalty adorn the hand crafted grand staircase. Other original features include the entrance which is a copper mash tun that has been crafted into a doorway and a magnificent wooden bookcase which originally sat in the late David Woodhouse’s family home.
