A free family friendly cider festival is taking place this month at Dorchester Borough Gardens.
The cider village is back on Saturday 17 September for the second year featuring a vast selection of 65 UK and local ciders. Cider fans can meet the producers and find out all about their produce.
As£†well as cider, there will be soft drinks, Beer, Lager, wine and all other options covered by Brewhouse & Kitchen. Ciders featured include Dorset Star, West Milton Cider, Sandford’s Orchards, Purbeck Cider Company, Weymouth Cider Company, Dorset Nectar, Bridge Farm and Cranbourne Chase.
The event is supported by the£†Dorchester Round Table and all proceeds from the day will be donated to the good causes supported by the group.
On the day the festival will be supporting the protest march for the Save The Special Care Baby Unit at Dorset County Hospital by inviting the group to the bandstand at 2.30pm to discuss their case. They will be joined by musician Billy Bragg before the event is officially opened by the celebrity and Dorchester Town Mayor.
Starting at 3pm, the event runs until 10pm in the popular town centre gardens and there will be£†hot and cold food including Posh Pigs Hog Roasts, A game BBQ, Dorset Wood Fired Pizza, Barbara’s Kitchen, Coffee To Go Go Go, Dorset Lamb Burgers and Mad Mitch Whippy.
There will be non£†stop live music from top bands on the Perry Platform and the Sam Scaffolding acoustic stage. Musical acts include Neck, The Jimmy Hillbillies, Dorset Wrecks, Danny Adams, the darwins plus acoustic sets from Blazing Strings, Lee Ames, Jack Humphries and Carlos Heath.
This years event is £†sponsored by Brewhouse & Kitchen, Ford Farm,Sam Scaffolding Dorset Ltd, Brace of Butchers, Poundbury Dental and Brandon Hire. The event was postponed£†in July due to bad weather.
