Cheeky Monkeys in Poundbury is celebrating its 15 year anniversary with a big family picnic this Sunday.
The volunteer playgroup has been passed on from mum to mum since its launch in 2001. Now the popular group has 30-40 mums turn up every Friday morning to socialise and meet other parents.
This Sunday (26th June) all local families are invited to joint the volunteers in the Woodland’s Crescent Park from 11am-3pm. Families are asked to bring their own picnic and there will be games, a story area and toilets/kitchen facilities in the Quiet Space.
Volunteer Anna Ledsham, from Poundbury, said: “It is a great group and has supported lots of mum, dads and carers over the years.
“We wanted to have an informal day that families could all come and meet each other and make it a great community event.”
All money raised on the day will be going to the Make a Wish Foundation UK.
There will be an optional £1 per family charge to go towards the charity. All families welcome. For more details visit the Cheeky Monkey’s Facebook page
Cheeky Monkeys runs every Friday (during term time) from 10am-11.30am in the Brownsword Hall, Poundbury.
