Meet the new owner of the quirky Bonjour Café Emma Teasdale.
She has swapped her life in the classroom to start her own venture in Poundbury – and the great news is that she adores baking.
After officially taking over the café this week, Emma is getting in the swing of things before officially relaunching the café on the bank holiday weekend – 29 April.
Emma has already put her stamp on the café with a fabulous selection of freshly baked cakes, quiches and a tasty homemade granola.
After growing up in Dorset and working for eight years in Bristol, Emma said she’s pleased to return to the county.
She said: “I was so thrilled to find this café for sale, it is in a lovely location.
“I think Poundbury has so much potential at the moment. It has been a great first few days and customers and other businesses have been so welcoming.”
Emma has exciting plans in the pipeline such as sandwich deliveries, vintage afternoon teas and Emma will be launching a afternoon vintage tea on Sunday afternoons which customers can book in advance.
Emma’s passion for baking is clear and therefore all the food is freshly baked every day.
Today, Emma is serving gorgeous cheese and bacon muffins, a choice of three freshly baked tarts and gorgeous freshly baked cakes.
Food is served all day and opening hours are 10am to 4pm Mon-Fri, Saturdays 10am to 3.30pm and Sundays 11am until 3pm.
The cafe’s website will soon relaunch but in the mean time you can see Emma’s posts about Bonjour at her Instagram.
