There’s much to look forward to this weekend with both the Poundbury Open Gardens event and an open art studio exhibition to enjoy.
This Sunday will see a rare opportunity to visit 23 gardens in Poundbury. The event is aimed at raising money for charity and providing a useful networking experience for green-fingered residents and gardeners.
Maps of the participating gardens are available for £3 from Poundbury Gardens in Queen Mother Square. Highlights include The Quiet Space on Woodlands Crescent (garden and building), which is open un
The gardens at Castle View Poundbury on Bridport Road are also open for closer inspection from 12noon to 4pm. The £3 entry includes refreshments and there will be various stalls and a raffle with proceeds to Julia’s House.
This weekend also sees an open studio event from 10am – 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday held at 25 Peverell Avenue West in Poundbury (entry is through the back gate and the studio is above the garage), There will also be a group exhibition by Circa5 called Perceptions.
Circa5 is a group of artists exhibiting together for the first time. Their work is varied in its approach, but is based on an emotional response to the subject rather than a literal representation.
The work shown is a taste of a much larger gallery exhibition planned for 2018.
