With Spring to look forward to, Dorset’s farms open their gates for lambing season, allowing visitors to learn about the importance of farming to the local community and watch some live action.
Locally, Kingston Maurward hosts an annual lambing weekend in March taking place on the fourth and fifth of the month.
With bumper numbers of lambs expected this is a perfect family day out. See the cute baby lambs with their mothers and visit all the other animals in the Animal Park too.
The Animal Park is accredited as an Approved Conservation Farm Park by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and now boasts Portland Sheep and Bagot goats among its residents.
Plus, get up close to alpacas, fluffy rabbits and meet all there farmyard friends – cows, pigs, chickens, ducks and more.
Gates are usually open 10am-4pm Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 March 2017, so why not pop along and meet the animals at Kingston Maurward.
